UCC’s MEngSc Information Technology in Architecture, Engineering and Construction has been named Postgraduate Course of the Year – Engineering at gradireland's Graduate Recruitment Awards 2016. Held at The Mansion House, Dublin, the awards are the blue riband event for HR professionals and graduate recruiters in Ireland and the gala evening attracted more than 500 guests. The Postgraduate Course of the Year – Engineering category was sponsored by Engineers Ireland. The evaluation of the programme, one of the few courses in Ireland offered in collaboration with experts from European universities, included employability, reputation, innovation, the research record of academic staff, and the national and international recognition of the programme. “The MEngSc ITinAEC addresses the increased need for engineers with an in-depth knowledge of how to efficiently deploy information technologies to support their work,” said Professor Karsten Menzel – programme coordinator of the MengSc in ITAEC. “We are proud that senior industry representatives accepted their appointment as adjunct Professor just recently. We believe that this close interaction with industry makes this programme distinct from others and prepares participants in an excellent way for their next job in industry.” The School of Engineering at UCC is confident that it offers best in class, high impact programmes at post graduate level.  Furthermore, the specialisation in information technology, facilities and energy management offers new qualification profiles and a broad spectrum of career paths in innovative fields to future graduates.
